Seamless gutters in El Paso, Texas earn their keep in summer storms: about 53 percent of the year's rain falls July through September, per the National Weather Service. Sage Intelligence installs seamless aluminum K-style gutters on sound fascia, sloped to each downspout, and sends the roof water at least five feet from the foundation where the lot allows, or into a drain line built to take it.

Seamless aluminum gutters and downspouts for El Paso homes and rentals: one piece per run, hidden hangers, a steady fall to every downspout and a color matched to the fascia, with each downspout ending where the yard can take the water.

What Sage does for gutters in El Paso

  • Seamless aluminum K-style gutters
  • Hidden hangers
  • Downspouts
  • Fascia board repair
  • Color matched
What the scope covers
  • Seamless aluminum K-style gutters, 5 inch or 6 inch, formed from coil to the length of each run
  • Hidden hangers fastened into the fascia at close, even spacing, in place of spikes driven through the face
  • A steady fall along every run toward its downspout, so water does not stand in the trough
  • Downspouts strapped to the wall, with elbows and extensions or drain lines that carry the water away from the foundation
  • Color matched to the fascia or trim from the factory coil colors, with HOA color rules looked at first
  • A look at the fascia board before anything is hung
  • Removal of old gutters and spike hangers
  • Fascia board repair or replacement where the board is soft or split
  • Conductor heads and downspouts under scuppers on flat roofs, so a parapet roof's water lands where the yard can take it

If your project is a fit, see your roofline finished before work starts.

How far from the foundation should a downspout let the water go?

At least five feet, or into a drainage system built to take it. The residential code El Paso adopted, the 2021 International Residential Code (El Paso Municipal Code 18.10.020), says that in areas where expansive or collapsible soils are known to exist, every dwelling needs a controlled method of collecting roof water and discharging it to the ground at least 5 feet from the foundation walls, or to an approved drainage system (IRC R801.3). The City's local amendments in Chapter 18.10 do not change that section.

Whether a particular lot sits on soils the code has in mind is a question about that lot. Sage plans each downspout to the five-foot line wherever the lot allows it, and into a drain line built to take the water where it does not, because the ground here gives the same reason. The Hueco soil series, established from a type location in El Paso County, has a very slowly permeable layer of cemented caliche at about 30 inches under soil that drains moderately rapidly, and the associated Simona soils carry that layer within 20 inches of the surface (USDA NRCS). Water dropped at a corner sinks fast, then stops and spreads sideways, toward the footing if that is the way the ground falls. The artificial turf page has more on that layer.

The same code asks the ground to help: the grade falls at least 6 inches within the first 10 feet from the foundation (IRC R401.3). A downspout that lets go into a low spot against the wall undoes that, which is why each one gets an extension or a drain line pointed down the slope, with a splash block only where the water still travels five feet from the wall, and where the yard falls the wrong way, the grade is part of the conversation, as the yard drainage section explains.

What size gutters does an El Paso house need?

Most single-story homes take 5 inch K-style gutters. A large or steep roof, a long run that feeds a single downspout, or a valley that pours into one spot can call for 6 inch gutters or another downspout instead. The size is set from how much roof drains to each run and how many downspouts can carry it away, and it is written into the scope by run, not picked once for the whole house.

Will new gutters match the color of my house?

Seamless aluminum comes in factory coil colors, and the usual choice is to match the fascia or trim so the gutter disappears into the roofline, with the downspouts matched to the wall they run down. If an HOA governs the lot, its exterior color rules come first, and the color name and profile are put in writing so they can go into your submittal.

What drives the cost of seamless gutters in El Paso?

The total length of the runs, one or two stories, the number of corners and downspouts, the gutter size, how much old gutter comes off first, and whether any fascia needs repair before the new gutter goes on. Downspout extensions or a longer route for the water add to it where the yard calls for them. Pricing is a phone conversation with Sage, and the investment is fixed in writing at Scope Lock.

Monsoon rain, where each downspout should let go, why the base of a wall stains, and how a flat roof with parapets drains, each with its source.
